1. Is a Certificate of Analysis published, not promised?

A Certificate of Analysis (COA) is the lab report for a specific batch. 2. Does the COA come from a third-party lab?

An in-house purity number is a self-assessment. Third-party testing means an independent laboratory ran the analysis and has no commercial interest in the result. Look for the testing laboratory's name on the document, the analysis date, and the batch or lot identifier. If any of those three are missing, the document is not verifiable.

3. Which analytical methods were used?

Two methods should appear on a complete report:

  • HPLC (high-performance liquid chromatography) — measures purity as a percentage of total peak area.
  • MS (mass spectrometry) — confirms identity by measuring molecular mass against the expected value.

4. Is the material lyophilized and correctly packaged?

Research peptides are supplied as a lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder in a sealed vial, not pre-mixed in solution. Peptides in solution degrade far faster than dry powder. 5. Is the labelling accurate about what is being sold?

Compounds sold for laboratory research are labelled for research use only. Any vendor describing a research compound in terms of personal outcomes, dosing schedules, or health results is either not operating as a research supplier or is not being careful with regulatory language. That carelessness tends to extend to their documentation.

6. Are storage and shipping conditions stated?
