HCG 5000IU — Human Chorionic Gonadotropin

HCG is human chorionic gonadotropin, a glycoprotein hormone built from two non-covalently associated subunits — an alpha subunit shared with other glycoprotein hormones and a beta subunit specific to HCG. Because it is a glycoprotein rather than a simple synthetic peptide, its quantity is expressed in International Units of biological activity rather than in milligrams.
