ARA-290, also called cibinetide, is an 11-residue peptide derived from the helix B domain of erythropoietin. It reproduces a structural region of the parent hormone that is distinct from the erythropoietic receptor interface, which is why it is studied as a tissue-protective rather than haematopoietic EPO derivative.
