Semax is a synthetic heptapeptide based on the 4-10 fragment of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), extended with a C-terminal Pro-Gly-Pro tripeptide. As with Selank, the Pro-Gly-Pro extension is the structural feature that increases resistance to peptidase cleavage.

Storage and handling
- Dry powder: store at −20 °C, sealed, protected from light and moisture.
- Bring the sealed vial to room temperature before opening — lyophilized powder is hygroscopic and draws moisture onto a cold surface.
- After reconstitution: refrigerate at 2-8 °C, protect from light, and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
- Contains a methionine residue, which is oxidation-sensitive — minimise exposure to air in solution.
What you need to reconstitute it
